Welcome to Carrington Fields, a development of fifty-eight one, two and three bedroomed homes for affordable rent and shared ownership located in Heavily. Work began in June 2016 on this site which is a former derelict industrial site to bring new, quality homes to Stockport.
The Viaduct Housing Partnership is proud to have worked with Lane End Construction as the contractor and Poole Dick Associates as the employer’s agent to develop these new homes.
The development was part funded by Homes England, who contributed £1,450,000 in capital grant. The properties have been built to the latest design and energy efficiency standards and will provide twenty-nine much needed affordable rented properties in the borough and twenty-nine homes for shared ownership.
The rented properties have proved to be very popular attracting an average of 52 bids per property. The shared ownership units were also popular and sold off plan.
The site sits in a sustainable location and is in close proximity to local shops, schools and community facilities. The overall development has been thoughtfully designed to provide an amenity area and a play area, and incorporates level access and security principles.
A new road provides access into the site, and the new road was named Strawberry Ave by a pupil from Year 3 at Cale Green Primary School which is the local school for the development. The names of the new road and the new apartment block reference famous Stockport icons, Strawberry Recording studio and local band The Blossoms.
