Raising the Bar: Viaduct Confirm Plans to Redevelop Iconic Pub

Artistic Impression of Stockport Pub Conversion in Hazel Grove

Viaduct Housing Partnership are thrilled to announce the acquisition of the former Woodman Inn Pub on London Road, Hazel Grove, which will be converted into 32 one- and two-bedroom apartments for social rent.

For the past 8 years the plot has been boarded up and left in disrepair on a brownfields site, so its revitalisation is a positive outcome for Stockport overall, as well as the local area. Grant funding of £2.388m has been secured from Homes England to part fund the development, and procurement of the build contract is now underway.

Working in partnership with Kirkland Developments, who secured consent for the development in March 2021, the plans mark a major milestone on the road to delivering much-needed affordable homes in Hazel Grove.
